This week we’re moving into the living-room, and there is a great deal of decisions to be made in this room! This is this is usually the place where friends and family congregate in many homes, including mine, that makes the seating so crucial. At the same time, there are a few key decisions in households that cause the most conversations (all right, arguments) in between family members. One is the positioning of that flat screen TV, and another is whether to have a recliner or a chair and ottoman as the secondary seating in a living room or den.
I need to admit that I used to state I would never ever have a big puffy recliner chair in my house– those old “bubba chairs” were always the first thing that entered your mind when I thought about reclining chairs. But in the last few years, manufacturers have completely re-designed the average recliner, with sleeker silhouettes, hidden mechanisms, and gorgeous styles! It’s really making me reassess my restriction on recliner chairs– which will make my husband delighted! There is absolutely nothing he likes more on game day than a comfy recliner chair.
But I’m still a fan of the chair and ottoman– I like curling up in one to read with my child in the evenings, usually with our canines snuggled on the ottoman. I also like the larger ottomans that can be utilized as a main mixed drink or snack table and offers a footrest for more than simply one seat in the space. There are more styling choices with chairs and ottomans, and you have more option in the type of material and trims you want to utilize. Even better, an ottoman can be used as extra seating when you have a lot of guests over for vacations or supper parties.
So as you can see, I’m having a difficult time making up my mind. Which would YOU choose– a reclining chair, or a chair and ottoman? Leave a comment on our Facebook page – let’s see what is popular in Myrtle Beach!
